Zveme na mezinárodní workshop "PHILOSOPHY OF ANIMALITY: ANIMALS AS STRANGERS"
Zveme na mezinárodní workshop "PHILOSOPHY OF ANIMALITY: ANIMALS AS STRANGERS", který pořádá katedra filosofie a humanitních studií:
The workshop Philosophy of Animality: Animals as Strangers brings together international community of philosophers specializing in ancient, modern, and contemporary thought. Its topic focuses on ethical and political understanding of human cohabitation with other than human forms of life. In this context, the consideration along human/animal axis can be extended to include the divine (which is a very specific kind of non-human and can also offer rich animal associations). Specifically, the workshop allows to rethink the problems of strangeness and hostility in human relations with non-human animals through “xenophobic” concepts of the enemy, the beast, the migrant, and the companion.
